Since the first time I watched the funny trailer of The Hitman's Bodyguard, I have been looking forward to watching the actual movie. The collaboration between Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds and Marvel's Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson would certainly lead to a variety of hilarious possibilities. Finally, the movie is out and here's a review of The Hitman's Bodyguard.

Brief overview of The Hitman's Bodyguard
Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) is a 3-star rated personal bodyguard who has fallen to the lowest level due to his previous failure to protect a client who has been killed by a sniper. Now he works as a bodyguard

for low-level clients who can not afford to pay high fees. In other words, he is now poor.

Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) is a hired assassin who has been arrested and made a deal to free his wife from prison in return for testimony against Dukhovich (Gary Oldman) who has been arrested for war crimes committed in Belarus.

However, Dukhovich orders all his witnesses killed, including Kincaid. They plan to kill him while he is being transferred from Manchester, England to The Hague where the trial is being held. Kincaid's delivery convoy is headed by Amelia Roussel (Elodie Yung) who is also Bryce's ex-girlfriend. When the convoy is ambushed and Kincaid is injured, Roussel calls Bryce for help. Thus, the adventure begins. I won't spoil the movie for you if you haven't watched it. Watch the movie yourself and see the hilarious adventure between Bryce and Kincaid.

Storyline
To be honest, the storyline featured in The Hitman's Bodyguard is nothing new. Movies depicting a dictator who wants to kill his witnesses have been done before. The strength of The Hitman's Bodyguard is not in its plot but rather on the strong and

powerful acting of both Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds. They are a perfect match; each possessing his own strengths and doesn't overshadow one another. Aditionally, the characters Kincaid and Bryce are hostile to each other and therein lies the comedy. The comedy that is displayed isn't solely slapstick either, but have been well thought out and delivered wisely.

Non-Stop Action Sequence
The Hitman's Bodyguard features almost non-stop action sequences that will keep you excited throughout the movie with many scenes where Kincaid gives love advice to Bryce for which Bryce doesn't seem interested to hear. The clash between these two differing personalities might make you think that they hate each other but rather it makes for many funny and hilarious moments. This movie may not be Oscar award material, but I believe it will entertain anyone watching it.

Conclusion
On the surface of it, the action comedy movie The Hitman's Bodyguard has a serious storyline about war crimes and corruption. And you can see this with scenes featuring Dukhovich. The scenes that feature Bryce and Kincaid help to relieve the seriousness of the issues presented in this movie. If you're a fan of Ryan Reynolds or Samuel L. Jackson or you just love an action comedy movie, The Hitman's Bodyguard is a must see.
