Three Horror Movies That May Have Been Cursed

We all know that movies are the product of the imagination of their writers. But the following are incidents and events that really took place on the set of three horror movies and these events will have you wonder whether these horror movies are cursed.

We've all been scared by horror movies at one time or another in our lives. But it's all just a movie, right? Well, these may have been just movies that we’re watching but there are reports about a series of horrifying and terrifying events that have occurred during the production of some of these horror movies behind the scenes. Coincidence? You be the judge. One thing is for sure, something definitely weird and out of control that cannot be easily explained is clearly happening in these shooting sets.

Tragedy on the Set of The Omen (1976)

Starring : Gregory Peck, Lee Remick,

David Warner, Harvey Stephens

Tragedy began on the set when the animal controller was eaten alive by a lion. Then, Gregory Peck and screenwriter David Seltzer were struck by lightning while traveling on separate airplanes but they were lucky and survived.

The most bizarre incident, however, was a car accident that happened right after all filming was done. Special effects artist of the movie, John Richardson, became trapped in a car collision that claimed the life of his girlfriend, and who was like the character Jennings in the movie beheaded in the accident.

Events surrounding Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Starring : Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon

William Castle who produced this movie was so much affected by this movie and the hate mail and death threats that were received from 'haters' who were disturbed by the satanic element of the movie that when he was treated for a urinary infection, he suddenly shouted, "Rosemary, for God's sake,

drop the knife."

The most horrifying incident to occur was the wife of the director of the film, Sharon Tate with three of her friends as well as her unborn baby were murdered by followers of Charles Manson who were said to be motivated by satanic rituals that were copied from the actual script of Rosemary's Baby.

Tragedy that befell actors in Poltergeist (1982)

Starring : Craig T. Nelson, JoBeth Williams, Dominique Dunne, Oliver Robins, Heather O’Rourke

Young actors in the horror movie Poltergeist had not been so lucky. Or were they actually cursed?

Firstly, little Oliver Robins (Robbie Freeling) almost died when he was strangled by the hands of the evil clown doll in one scene.

Then, the young star, Heather O'Rourke who plays Carol Anne Freeling died six years after the film premiered for the first time during normal routine surgery in a hospital. She was only 12.

The same year this movie was released, Dominique Dunne who plays the character of Carol’s sister, Dana Freeling, was strangled by a violent ex-lover.

It seems like even though we know that these horror movies are just movies for entertainment, they do have their own horrors behind the scenes.
